1st Generation Junior Black Belt

2010 Christinas Grading-1

Personal Self Defence graded their first Generation Junior Black Belt on Sat the 16th Jan Christina V, tested in solo under the watchful eye of the Black Belt Grading Panel of Sensei’s Tas, Parker and Barnes with a grueling 3 hour test at 29 deg heat undertaking all of the Syllabus, including Basics,  Forms ,Sets,  Self Defence, Board Breaking, Knowledge, Pressure Point Theory, Circle Work and Sparring to show why Personal Self Defence junior Black Belts aren’t just churned out like a production line at a Mac Dojo but are carved out of Disciplined activity and Integrity and all the future traits for success in life,  Christinas Journey has been 6 Years in the Making and now she  intends on moving into the full blown adult system of Ed Parkers American Kenpo training with her Father, a great effort  were all proud of her….. EHMA Hillcrest South Aust Community Fair Demo

Personal Self Defences South Australian Branch,  Empty Hands Martial Arts on Saturday, Nov 7th, had the pleasure of being invited to do a demonstration at the Hillcrest Community Fair. Graham Lelliott Visit 2009

Associate Master of the Arts 8th Degree Graham Lelliot visited Personal Self Defence to share his knowledge with our students, Sensei Peter Tas was  happy that Sensei Graham Lelliott accepted to be his Mentor and Official Instructor cementing the relationship between PSD and GL Kenpo offically giving the club Direct Lineage to a 1st Generation student and a family tree back to the of  Senior Grandmaster Ed Parker.
Everyone would agree that Mr Lelliott is a true Scholar and Warrior on and off the Matt…………………

Queensland Visit – Studio Plus

Sensei Peter Tas on a recent work trip to Queensland caught up some of our Kenpo Brothers in Queensland  Sensei’s Broadbent and Sensei Rea to do some good old fashion Kenpo Training, Sensei Tas also visited Studio plus  and spent some time with their Junior Class……….Thanks Studio Plus and Sensei’s Broadbent & Rea….

Proffessor Graham Lelliott 2009 Tour

Good freind and Mentor Professor Graham Lelliott has announced his 2009 Australian Tour. Mr Lelliott will be visiting Personal Self Defence Bayside Dojo for training seminars.

Its Been over 12 Months since we have had a decent pizza in the area, PSD Student Colin has just Opened his New Pizza Shop  – Palermos Pizzeria, Mr Tas has been for Pizza 3 nights in a row…its  that good!!

Steve Stewart Visit to PSD Melb 2009


Professor Steve Stewart recently visited the Classes of Personal Self Defence in Moorabbin to share some knowledge with some of the students, Sensei Tas undertook his Level 2 Training and Achieved his 1st Degree Black Kyusho Jitsu and Sensei Tim Barnes Successfully Completed his Level 1 Kyusho Jitsu training. A great Time had by all thank you Mr Steve Stewart for sharing your knowledge.

Team Waterways brings home the Bacon!

Personal Self Defence’s Team Waterways brought home the Bacon from the 2008 Kids World Championships
that were held in Melbourne, and Hosted by Sensei Peter Tas as the Victorian State Director for kids Worldwide had 17 students totaling 47 trophies with 14 1st Places, showed their skills to make the club proud.

A seminar was held introducing Kenpo Power Principles, Board Breaking and my new found love, Kenpo Swords to our Fellow Kenpoists to help give them a better insight to our fascinating Art, a great time had by all great friendships and training.
