The program is developed Specifically for people and Families who want to Improve their Confidence, get fit while learning some Practical Self Defence and having fun at the same time.

Steve Stewart Visit to PSD Melb 2009

Professor Steve Stewart recently visited the Classes of Personal Self Defence in Moorabbin to share some knowledge with some of the students, Sensei Tas undertook his Level 2 Training and Achieved his 1st Degree Black Kyusho Jitsu and Sensei Tim Barnes Successfully Completed his Level 1 Kyusho Jitsu training. A great Time had by all thank you Mr Steve Stewart for sharing your knowledge.

Team Waterways brings home the Bacon!

Personal Self Defence’s Team Waterways brought home the Bacon from the 2008 Kids World Championships
that were held in Melbourne, and Hosted by Sensei Peter Tas as the Victorian State Director for kids Worldwide had 17 students totaling 47 trophies with 14 1st Places, showed their skills to make the club proud.

South Australia Seminar Kids and Adults
I recently traveled to South Australia to meet up with our Kenpo family on the other side of the country.
A seminar was held introducing Kenpo Power Principles, Board Breaking and my new found love, Kenpo Swords to our Fellow Kenpoists to help give them a better insight to our fascinating Art, a great time had by all great friendships and training.

Personal Self Defence recently had a Kenpo Kids Grading on 2nd of May and successfully graded 10 students to their next Consecutive rank, shown above are our 2 New Blue Belts Chelsea and Christian and our new 2nd Brown Nicole and 1st Brown Christina.

Commitment (Lack of)

1 in 1000 make it black Belt in our Art, this was the perception my instructor had put in my head of an impossible task at hand when i started in Kenpo, but i committed to attaining my black belt, 12 years on a fractured journey I have now actually seen a few colleagues achieve this, more than 1 in 1000 so the myth was broken, had I not been committed to my goal then 1 in 1000 would still be the perception.
I tell my students that the main difference between a White and black belt apart from Skill is commitment with persistence.
In today’s day and age commitment is taking lower priority in the world with what is called the “Now Generation.” The current younger generation are more likely to be less committed and indecisive, Read more
